One of our lovely three + star for travel sustainability favourites, the Radisson Hotel in York offers all the glamour and grace you would expect from this epic brand. This hotel is exquisitely decorated although we admit that design is just a matter of taste. From the approach, the hotel is a large building with man windows, supported on the first floor with pillars. You don’t expect to walk in to an immaculately presented hotel lobby, complete with warm, comfortable seating areas.

The Radisson York uses open space perfectly. Minimalist and symmetrical, the interior has soft rugs over hardwood flooring, gentle blue hues, neutral wood seating, and a palate that makes you instantly relaxed. The rooms are as gentle, elegant, and comfortable as you might expect from a hotel such as this.

The 4-star Radisson Hotel is on North Street with views out overlooking the River Ouse. From such comfortable surroundings, it is hard to imagine the Vikings sailing up that river. The building is six minutes’ walk from the Jorvik Centre where you can learn more about the days of old.

The hotel includes a restaurant and bar. They operate a fascinating click and collect service, where you can arrange the food from your room and pick it up during your allocated time slot. This way you can dine in your room even throughout a global pandemic.
