Strawbale Collection – Jill Strawbale House, Scotland
“The Strawbale accommodation was incredible and in a beautiful area. The house has everything you need for a luxury stay and the views from the living room are mind blowing. Enjoyed watching the stars in the sky from the hot tub. You must visit local places such as Ardtoe beach, the light house and local distilleries. I would definitely recommend this property and would love to go visit again. Didn’t want to come home at the end of week after making such lovely memories..”
Set in an elevated position in the Scottish Highlands, this unique cruck-frame strawbale house offers stunning south-facing views over Loch Sunart and the Morvern hills. The eco-friendly property, awarded a Green Tourism Gold Award, features a spacious open-plan upper level with a kitchen, dining, and living area beneath an arched roof, along with floor-to-ceiling windows that open onto a balcony—perfect for enjoying the scenery. A spiral staircase leads to a large lower deck with a hot tub, outdoor seating, dining space, and a chiminea. Surrounded by the historic Ariundle oak woods, guests can explore nearby walking trails and old lead mines, while the wider Ardnamurchan Peninsula offers mountains, sandy beaches like Sanna Bay, abundant wildlife, and attractions such as Ardnamurchan Lighthouse and the local distillery. The peaceful location provides a true escape, with a beach less than half a mile away and local shops, a pub, and a restaurant just 1½ miles from the property.
